Permit Process
Residents must obtain a permit from the Sands Township office prior to taking trash to the Marquette County Solid Waste Management Authority (MCSWMA) (landfill).
- The permit costs $20, payable by cash or check.
- Users will be issued a receipt by the landfill that reflects the cost of the haul, based on weight. If the receipt reflects an amount that exceeds $20, the balance must be paid to the Sands Township office.
Contents must be tarped. Haulers will be turned away if the trash is not covered.
