- Sands Township Recycle and Transfer Station (see hours of operation), or
- MCSWMA (landfill)
Location
Our transfer station is located on M-553 just south of the Sands Township Office and Park.

- Wednesday 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- Thursday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month
- Electronics recycling - 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on the 3rd Saturday of the month
Recycling Tips
Please help keep recycling costs down by breaking down cardboard boxes, flattening plastic jugs and aluminum cans, and preparing other items to take up as little space as possible.Â
No plastic bags, household (kitchen) waste, or Styrofoam may be recycled.Â
Reminder – plastic wrap and plastic bags are not recyclable through our program. They must be thrown away or recycled with a program that accepts them. Any soiled items cannot be recycled. Paper towel, napkins, Kleenex, and other paper products that have been used must be thrown in the trash.
